Mulching

Mulching is the application of an organic(biodegradable)/ inorganic material to the soil cover.It can be done along, around or in alternate rows.

              Mulching has a couple of benefits such as;

              Conservation of soil moisture.

             Suppresses weed growth

             Improves organic matter of soil when the organic mulch decomposes.

             Improves soil moisture.

             Enables root development.

             Helps improve soil structure.

 Alternate row mulching is useful where mulch material is limited. It can also be applied  to ensure  that no single nutrient is too much to limit the uptake of another nutrient.
